However, he and his friend Girish, who worked as cleaner in the same firm, were fired last year for cheating the company.

Afraid of being caught, they took the bus to Kasargodu in Kerala and started their own transport business. They used to run the bus between Udupi and Kasargodu.

Two months later, the men mortgaged the bus to a garage owner and lived the good life with the money they received.
However, after eight months they decided to sell off the bus, as it had suffered damage in the rains and they didn't have the money to get it repaired.
According to cops, the men sold the bus, which was worth Rs 8 lakh, to the garage owner for a small sum.

They spent that money in Kerala and returned to Bangalore.
That's when the manager of the company they worked for spotted the duo and enquired about them. When he came to know that they had been to Kerala, he got suspicious and informed the police.
S Chandrakala, PI of Basavanagudi police station, said, "To avoid being caught, the duo had taken the vehicle to Kerala. Though we have managed to arrest Kumar and have recovered the bus, Girish is still absconding."
He added that they are on the lookout for him and are interrogating Kumar to see if anyone else is involved in the crime.
