The prime accused in the kidnap case of the Kerala MLA's daughter, Shruti, surrendered in the office of the chief judicial magistrate yesterday.
The court remanded Sharan Raju to judicial custody till February 24.
Sharan Raju, along with his associates, abducted Shruthi and Shabib, who was accompanying her in the bus.
Shruthi, daughter of CPM MLA C H Kunhambu was returning to her hostel in Mangalore from her hometown, Manjeshwaram.u00a0
The accused and his pals barged into the bus and pulled both Shruti and Shabib out of the bus. They took them to a village and let Shruthi off after issuing a stern warning against mingling with boys of other communities.
Based on a complaint, the Pandeshwar police arrested five, including the bus driver and conductor, who tipped off Sharan Raju.
