They were only a few days away from a windfall. Delhi police on Monday claimed to have busted a prostitution racket in Rohini locality of outer Delhi with the arrest of seven people, including six women.

The gang was operating from Rohini Sector-16 and was busted Sunday evening after police sent a decoy customer to strike a deal with a woman named Premlata, 39. She ran the gang along with Dev Kumar, 35. Five
girls were employed by the duo.

"We sent a decoy customer to their flat. Five girls were presented before him. They asked him Rs. ,500 for a night. When the policeman signalled, we raided the premises and arrested all of them," Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Chhaya Sharma said.

She said that Premlata also provided space at her house."She kept her share from the money paid by the customers. Two girls disclosed that they had come to Delhi from Patiala. One of them is reportedly a student of DAV school in Patiala," Sharma added.

The cops found that the arrested pimp Premlata, 35, is a history-sheeter and she was arrested earlier on charges of prostitution. But she got out of jail and again entered flesh trade.

Minor rescued

A 17-year-old girl, hailing from West Bengal, was rescued from a brothel in the Capital on December 14. The police received a tip-off that the girl was kept in a brothel on GB Road and forced into prostitution, a police official said.
"We rescued the girl from Kotha No.56 and arrested the owner Salma," the official added. On questioning, the girl said that a person had brought her to Delhi on the pretext of sightseeing and sold her to Salma.
