Balurghat (WB): A class ten girl today alleged being raped by a youth at his home after making false promise to marry her at Jakirpur in South Dinajpur district.
Police said the teenaged youth has been detained for interrogation at local police station after the girl and her family squatted before the house of the accused this morning demanding he marry her.
The girl's family in a verbal complaint said she was lured to the youth's residence by the teenager last night who then had alleged sexual intercourse with her promising he would marry her soon.
However, the next morning the youth allegedly said he couldnot marry the girl and asked her to leave.
On return with her relatives, the girl failed to spot the youth at his home and then squatted before the house demanding 'justice', police said quoting villagers.
The youth was detained for grilling this afternoon, police said.
The girl has been sent for medical test.
