A Congress legislator was on Monday caught on camera while allegedly watching an obscene video clip on his mobile phone in the Odisha assembly
Bhubaneswar: A Congress legislator was on Monday caught on camera while allegedly watching an obscene video clip on his mobile phone in the Odisha assembly. The legislator has denied the allegation.
Congress member Nabakishore Das was caught in camera by a local news channel during question hour.
Though Das admitted he accessed internet in his mobile phone inside the house, he denied watching any obscene video and clarified that the page appeared suddenly while surfing the net.
"I have never seen such video clips. While I was trying to open a web page in my mobile, the video clip on Youtube inadvertently opened," Das clarified.
He said he will give a clarification to the speaker over the issue.
"I have done nothing wrong. It is a conspiracy against me to tarnish my image," Das said, adding that he was ready to face a probe.
However, the ruling Biju Janata Dal demanded a probe and action against the leader.
Alleging that the Congress member was watching an obscene video clip during question hour, BJD member Pramila Mallick said she will urge the speaker to order an investigation into the matter and take action against the legislator.
"It is very shameful that the MLA was watching obscene clips in the august house. Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will urge the speaker to take strong action against the legislator," said Mallick.
