At the receiving end of his ire was Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) ward officer Madhav Gaikwad, with whom he allegedly had an axe to grind for his objection to a structure raised by Ladkat. Gaikwad finally had to go to the police and lodge a complaint against the abusive corporator.
Ladkat had constructed a structure at Ladkat Vasti which was objected to by Gaiwad. The ward officer took it up with the anti-encroachment department of the PMC and pushed them to take action. The issue was raised in the general body meeting of the PMC. A close friend of Ladkat said Gaiwad had mentioned in his report a disputed school in the area. The debate over it was on for the past few months.
Nobody, however, expected any histrionics at the wedding. Both Ladkat and Gaikwad had been invited. As soon as Ladkat espied Gaikwad he reportedly started abusing and manhandling him. The heated exchange between the two continued even after theu00a0 function.u00a0
A guest on condition of anonymity said that Ladkat was carrying a lathi and had 20 men with him to intimidate Gaikwad. "Ladkat was out of control and Gaikwad lost his patience when things took a turn for the worse," he said. Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal tried to pacify Ladkat and Gaikwad as both are from NCP. The Mayor said both were not heeding him and the issue would be handled by the police. Ladkat could not be reachde for comment.
