A middle-aged man who fell into a canal in Hadapsar around 9.30 pm yesterday was pulled out by the police. The man was unhurt.
The police, who reached the canal before the arrival of the fire brigade, could not establish the identity of the man immediately, but said he appeared to be about 50 years of age.
The Hadapsar police station was informed about the man having fallen into the canal by his wife. "A woman approached us around 9.30 pm saying her husband had fallen down a canal. We rushed to the spot with two officials," Constable Pachule said. "We caught hold of the man and got him out safely."
The fire brigade reached the spot a little after the man's rescue.
