The Karnataka High Court has issued a notice to the State Home secretary for not providing security to Hussain Moin Farooq, despite his complaint of getting threat calls from Kolar Gold Field MLA
Y Sampangi.
Violation of terms
It may be recalled that Farooq, a city based businessman had helped the Lokayukta trap Sampangi red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh, had filed a writ petition in the High Court on Friday, objecting to Speaker KG Bopaiah's clean chit to him.
Farooq had also appealed to the HC to cancel his bail since he violated the terms by threatening the witnesses, including him.
Farooq had stated that the State Home Secretary should provide security to him as long as Sampangi is on bail until the sessions court decides upon the case. Otherwise, the complainant and witnesses will have to live under constant threat from him.
