The mother of lawyer Rebecca John, who is a counsel for Dr Rajesh Talwar and his wife in the case of their daughter Aarushi, was found murdered at her residence in Vivek Vihar on Tuesday afternoon.

Lawyer's mother found murdered


The mother of lawyer Rebecca John, who is a counsel for Dr Rajesh Talwar and his wife in the case of their daughter Aarushi, was found murdered at her residence in Vivek Vihar on Tuesday afternoon.




"The robbers perhaps knew that she was alone in the house and they appeared to be familiar with the area. We have questioned the neighbours too," the official added.

The murder came to light after the security guard of the locality noticed that the rear door of the two-storey building where the deceased lived was open. He informed the deceased's relatives who live on the first floor who in turn informed the police.

31-year-old hangs self
A 31-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence in Jagriti Enclave area in East Delhi. Family members of the deceased have alleged that she was being beaten up by her husband Sanjeev over petty issues and he had even demanded dowry.

u00a0"At around 10:30 am we got a call that a woman had committed suicide. A police team reached the spot and took her to a nearby government hospital where she was declared brought dead," said a police official.

Woman nabs eve teaser
A 22-year-old woman managed to nab an auto driver who along with his accomplices had made obscene gestures at her in Saket. "The woman, Priya (name changed) was waiting for a bus to return home when the accused Ravinder came there in his auto along with his two associates. He then started making obscene gestures at her. As he slowed down the auto near her, she caught hold of him and made a call to police. Though his associates fled from the spotu00a0 but Ravinder was arrested," said a police official.

Man attempts to rape 12-year-old
A man allegedly tried to rape a 12-year-old girl in Chankayapuri area in New Delhi. A senior police official said that the victim, who lives in Sanjay camp in the area, was sleeping in her home along with her younger brothers when the accused barged inside the room and tried to undress her. However, she woke up and shouted for help. Hearing a commotion, her parents and few neighbours rushed to the spot and caught the accused who was under the influence of liquor. He was then arrested, " said a police official.
