Director B P Srinivas plans to drag hero Akshay to court after the boy's father Venkatappa pulled him out of his film.

"I am filing a case against Akshay... According to the agreement, I have paid him Rs 7 lakh," Srinivas told MiD DAY.

"Venkatappa is not responding to my calls," Srinivas said.

When MiD DAY called, Venkatappa had his own story to tell. "It was my son's decision not to act in Srinivas's film," he said. "That's because the papers carried reports about his shady dealings."

Several people in Delhi had contacted the police after they read about his controversial film in the newspapers.

Srinivas stirred a hornet's nest recently when his daughter played his love interest in the recently released film, Mussanjeya Gelathi.

"Some tabloids are giving us bad publicity. I had given the editor of one of them a role in Harishchandra Ghat and I had to pay him an advance, but since I was away at Hong Kong and Kathmandu, he got miffed," he said.

Akshay had been signed on to play the lead in a film called Harishchandra Ghat.

"The film tells the love story of a man who works at a burial ground and a rich girl. My daughter plays the lead role and I play a rich man comparable to Vijay Mallya," he said.
