Bangaloreans would have missed yesterday's match even if it were being played in the city
The thundershowers in the city last evening would have played a spoilsport if the IPL semi-final match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians were conducted in the city.
"It's a blessing in disguise. Otherwise, the match would have to be re-scheduled to another day," said Thamjeet Guru, who has been following the IPL.
While, S Muralidhar, the PRO of Karnataka State Cricket Association, said, "If the match would have been played here, I don't think the rains would have deterred fans.

With temperature dropping well below 23 C, city's meteorological department recorded 12.5 mm rainfall yesterday.
Prof. Raje Gowda of the Agriculture University in Bangalore said, "We are expecting cold winds and heavy rains this week. The rains can cause flooding in several parts of the city."
Following the heavy rains, most parts of the city had plunged into darkness last evening. Also, several trees and electric poles were uprooted due to stormy weather.
The BESCOM officials were forced to cut off the power supply in areas that witnessed heavy rainfall to prevent damage of property.
Due to power cut, many Bangaloreans even missed watching the IPL semi-final match on television.
