It was a morning not worth remembering for Bansals.
His wife Lata Bansal, 38, and two children Varsha, 16, and Deepak, 10, were present in the house at the time of the incident. The robbers held Lata and the children at gunpoint. They then asked Lata to hand over the keys of the safe, but Lata denied. Seeing this, they stabbed her in her arm and snatched the keys.
"They took away jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh and about Rs 2 lakh in cash. They held my wife at gunpoint so that she couldn't make a call for help," said Keshav Bansal.
After ransacking the house, the robbers fled from the spot. Later Lata called the police and the neighbors. She was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. The police have lodged an FIR against unknown person.
"Prima facie it seems like somebody familiar to this family is involved in it," said a police officer.
