An American national, CEO of a US-based company, was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Wednesday for allegedly carrying a live cartridge, police said.
An American national, CEO of a US-based company, was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Wednesday for allegedly carrying a live cartridge, police said.
"56-year-old Daniel Jon Starks was apprehended at the airport during baggage check by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) team," said CISF spokesperson Rohit Katiyar.
Starks, who work for a cardiac equipment company, was on a business trip to India. He was on his way to Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. "He is a frequent traveller to India and this time had arrived in Delhi on February 19 on a business trip," said an airport official.
DCP, airport security, RA Sanjeev said: "The accused has a multiple entry visa and often comes on business trips to India. A live cartridge of .45 calibre, was found from his possession and he was booked under Arms Act."
