An unemployed youth was arrested for allegedly slapping security personnel when they prevented him from entering Parliament on Thursday. The incident took place outside Parliament gate number-8 around 12.15 pm. Identified as Anil Singh, the accused told police that he had come from Ranchi to meet members of Parliament and ask for a job.

"Singh told police that he is a native of Ranchi, Jharkhand. He arrived in Delhi two days ago. At noon, police saw a man trying to enter the Parliament. He said he is unemployed and his father, Parshuram Singh, had died some months ago.

He said he wanted to meet MPs and narrate to them his ordeal," a senior police official said. When asked to leave, Singh tried to enter forcefully, and attacked the security personnel. A case under appropriate Sections was filed against him.
