Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam today expressed confidence that the Union budget will allocate the required funds for Tamil Nadu. Talking to reporters at the Airport here, Paneerselvam said the budget, to be presented tomorrow, would provide funds necessary for various projects as sought by the State.

On the Cauvery issue, he said it was the right of Tamil Nadu to seek its share of Cauvery water and similarly it was the duty of Karnataka to release it to the state.

The government was exerting pressure on the NEET issue, during every meeting with the prime minister, he said. State Education minister K A Sengottaiyan recently said the government's policy was to get exemption from National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and it had been urging the Centre continuously to make the change.
