Ashwin Deo, founder and managing director of Trinity Vinters, launched a new brand of wine called Turning Point last month, with a "conscious strategy of making the wines look vibrant and fun". In a move that gives off a strong whiff of Absolut, the Turning Point wine bottles are looking to create wacky label designs. Only, they are inviting everyone to join the party.
"BottleArt as a concept, has stemmed from this avante garde packaging initiative and is intrinsic to the brand. Turning Point will keep changing its look although there will be an overall family identity that will remain intact," explains Deo.
Here's how the BottleArt plan will unfold. Deo is inviting people to visit the website www.turningpointwines.com, and submit their designs for labels, that once chosen, will go on the wine bottle. Once you click on create/upload art, you are directed to the Facebook application platform, from where you can upload the art.

How does he plan to choose the best designs? "It will be a combination of people voting for them on the site, coupled with the design team's recommendation.
We will also check out the feasibility of having the design on the bottles in terms of the printing technology," says Deo. Turning Point wines are made in Nashik and include Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Shiraz Cabernet and Ros.
