Delhi women are not safe even in hospitals. Brazen incidents of molestation by doctors continue to be a blot on the country's healthcare system. In yet another incident, a young woman was allegedly locked up inside a room and molested by a doctor on the pretext of a medical examination at a government hospital at Malviya Nagar.

The incident occurredu00a0 on Monday when the victim visited the hospital with chest pain. The woman alleged that the doctor, identified as one Dr Mathur, locked her up inside a room on the pretext of a medical check-up.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday. A police official said, "She raised an alarm and began shouting for help after which Mathur tried to flee. However, he was caught and beaten up by a mob."
In her statement to the police, the woman said, "I had gone for treatment to the hospital. The doctor, Mathur, sent the peon outside and locked his room from inside. He pulled off my clothes and molested me."
"When I resisted, he said me he was checking me and made me lie on a sofa. He then tried to remove my trousers and I shouted for help," she said in the statement.
