Traffic police had a tough time dealing with an inebriated driver who rammed his car into a taxi on the Lalbaug flyover amidst the heavy rains yesterday, and then refused to be hauled away; Datta Kumbhar captured the fiasco
Drinking and driving has a whole new meaning. A chauffeur, driving heavily under the influence at the Lalbaug Flyover yesterday, rammed into a taxi, sending it over a divider

The taxi came in contact with a cable, causing a short circuit. The cab driver, and later two traffic cops sustained electric shocks
When traffic cops came his way, the man stubbornly sat in the back seat of his car, in the company of the alcohol bottle he had been drinking from. He sulked there, refusing to emerge, with an unlit cigarette hanging from his lips.
A tug of war ensued on the rain-drenched flyover, with traffic police struggling to force the man out of the vehicle. The inebriated chauffeur was on the verge of pelting some blows on his captors, but was restrained somehow and packed off to Kalachowkie police station.
