Three friends, including Rajesh Singh, an automobile shop owner,u00a0 were triple-riding on a bike and had stopped on Avenue Road to pass urine, when another group of inebriated men in a car halted in front of them and asked them to leave the spot.
When the three refused to go, Ganesh and Venkatesh Raou00a0-- both brothersu00a0-- came out of the car with a pistol and hockey stick and tried to force the three to scramble.
Singh alleged that, he was urinating against a wall when he was held at gunpoint and then beaten up. Singh has a graze wound on his leg and claims that the gunman fired several shots also hitting his friend in the process.
Police have not been able to confirm this as Singh's friends are currently missing. Speaking to MiD DAY, Singh said, "Those men were also drunk and they started to punch me and my friends. They put the gun to my head and threatened me. They also fired some shots, but I don't know where my friends are."
DCP, Nanjundas Swami arrived at Chickpet police station to oversee the investigation.u00a0He said, "We have seized the weapons and our ballistic experts have confirmed that bullets were fired and we found two cases so far. It is possible that others were injured. So far we are not sure who else has been shot." Meanwhile both brothers have been taken into police custody.
