The marathon has six categories — men (15 km), women (10 km) boys (four km) girls (three km) and senior citizens (one km). “We have come up with these categories to ensure that all can participate,” said Naik. Prices worth Rs 2.3 lakh will be distributed to winners from the different categories.
The NMMC first held the marathon in February this year but only 500 people participated. According to them limited time to organise the event led to poor advertising. However, this time they say, they have tried their best to spread the word across the city.
