Eight teens who allegedly beat a junior college student to death in suburban Andheri have been arrested.

Mumbai police have arrested eight teenagers for allegedly beating a college student to death in suburban Andheri.


According to police sources, the incident occurred on Tuesday over a text message sent by one of the accused to the girlfriend of the victim, junior college student Ansh Agarwal.


The sources added that Ansh objected to some lewd messages that were sent to his girlfriend by one of the accused. He accosted the accused, who was also from the same college, and the two got into a scuffle.


The accused then got a group together to retaliate andu00a0Ansh was allegedly beaten up with hockey sticks. Some of them subsequently are believed to have smashed his head in with a stone.
