Yet another Snacks 'n' Shakes has opened at Koregaon Park but what marks this as unique is their All-Day Breakfast menu. Borrowing from the American concept, Shake-o-Holic allows you to walk in anytime and enjoy breakfast staples, such as Mushroom Omelette, Chicken Sausage Omelette and Scrambled Eggs throughout the day. The eatery was set up by Rishi Mahatani, a hotel management professional, who returned to the city post a stint in the Gulf. It helps that their menu is priced reasonably and the quantity served is enough for two people.
The tiny eatery has all of five tables and canary yellow chairs, which perks up your mood and there are posters lining the brown walls. They are also putting in efforts to revive the humble postcard and offer them for free. You can pore through stacks of postcards with images of Formula One cars, cricketers and illustrations.
We tried: We threw caution to the winds and ordered a Monkey Milk Shake (Rs 60) and a Rum and Chocolate Shake (Rs 90), thanks to the amusing names. The Monkey Milk Shake was a yummy mix of banana and strawberry, garnished with chocolate streaks. The Rum and Chocolate Shake was pretty average and the overpowering taste of rum drowned all other flavours.
The Arabic Chicken Grill Sandwich (Rs 60) was akin to a regular sandwich, though the generous doses of Tahini (ground sesame seeds) paste saved it from being mundane. The Paneer Tikka Schezwan sandwich (Rs 60) had a wonderful combination of Tikka with spicy Schezwan sauce and had a unique flavour.
Since their sandwiches and shakes were quite satiating, we didn't have the courage to order dessert. But if you are still hungry, you can opt for their Mousse Cake (Rs 50) or Mousse Cake with Ice Cream (Rs 65).
Service: The owner and his parents personally supervise the eatery and are helpful in recommending their best dishes.
