Bangalore fire officials are struggling to get their stolen fire hoses back from villages in Hasan. G Raju (25) and
M Naveen (23) allegedly stole 45 superior quality hoses worth over Rs 2 lakh from multi-storeyed buildings in Bangalore and sold them to farmers in Hasan.

Firemen are busy scouring villages in the district for the hoses. Following a series of fire breakouts, including one in the Carlton Towers, the fire department had handed over the hoses to the buildings' managements.

After stealing one hose and selling it in Shantigrama in Hasan district, the men realised that it was a quick way to make big bucks.

They returned to Bangalore, stopped working in the garment factory where they were employed and took to stealing the hoses at night.
