Jalandhar: Ex-servicemen here today began a three-day relay hunger strike demanding implementation of the 'One Rank, One Pension'(OROP).


Leuitenient Colonel (Retd) Balbir Singh, President 'Ex-servicemen Welfare Asssociation of Jalandhar Cantt', today said, "The relay strike will begin from today and will end on July 1.


It will be held 10 AM to 7 PM for the three days." He said by not fulfilling his promise on one rank one pension, the prime minister was hurting the sentiments of ex-servicemen.


He said some farmers will be joining the protest tomorrow and that the association will send a memorandum to the President tomorrow to request his inteference in the issue.
