A two-day seminar resulted in brainstorming sessions and plenty of proposals that may help overcome the current crisis; a research document will be handed to various departments of the state government

Experts come up with ideas to beat economic slowdown

The economic slowdown has taken a turn for the worse and the state government is trying its best to overcome this difficult period.

A two-day seminar called 'Innovative Management Practices in Uncertain Times' was held at YASHADA.

The seminar was sponsored by the University Grant Commission (UGC) to look at plausible options to beat the economic slowdown.

YASHADA and the Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Commerce (MMCC) has offered suggestions that will tackle business uncertainties in these troubled times.

The organisations are also preparing a document that will be submitted to various departments of the state government.

"We will be sending nearly 15 research papers to the government that will outline an action plan to beat the economic slowdown," said Dr Bharat Bhushan, dean, YASHADA, and Dr M D Lawrence, principal, MMCC.

"The suggestions made during the seminar are quite useful and were made without any inhibitions," they added.
Professors, readers, lecturers, research scholars, management experts and corporate professionals from 17 states participated in the seminar.

There were 115 papers received at the seminar, but only 54 have been presented. The experts gave more than 800 useful tips to overcome the current crisis through an open discussion.

u00a0"Everyone is concerned about the future and how we, as a society, can cope up with these challenges is the basic issue," Dr Lawrence said.

The seminar had addressed many issues like finance and financial services, general management, development administration, public private partnership, marketing management, human resource management and international trade, he informed.
