No injuries were reported in the incident ufffd the third of its kind in the city in a fortnight.
The car's owner, Kaushal Makhija, said that the dangerous old treeu00a0 was near his wine shop. When the tree fell, Makhija informed the PMC and fire brigade. The tree was removed from the car by cutting its branches and trunk.
"My car sustained many dents and scratches and the estimated loss is nearly Rs 40,000," Makhija said.
A fire brigade official said "We are aware that there are many old trees which require supports. This can prevent major mishaps."
Meanwhile, a wall of an old wada collapsed near Ganpati Chowk, Laxmi road at 11.30 pm. No one was injured.
