Son would steal, mother would sell the stolen goods and father would invest in fresh property. As a result, the enterprising crooks ended up owning 120 autos and acres of real estate across the state and beyond

Their family empire includes 120 autos, a Tata Sumo, 15 buildings, a site in Mysore and a 20-acre mango grove in Maharashtra all worth crores of rupees.

And all of it was the result of single-minded stealing, selling and investing son Imran (22) would steal, mother Zarina (45) would sell the stolen property and father Dadapir would invest in fresh property.

The booty includes 1 kg of gold ornaments, 14 kg of silver jewellery and vehicles worth lakhs.

Telltale clues

Police inspector Gopal K P, who led the operation, said, "The accused were wanted by various police stations in the city, and it was the fingerprints taken from one of the houses they had looted that led to the arrests."

"They were very shrewd investors. They owned 15 buildings near famous dargahs like Murugamulla in Kolar, Chinthamani, Ramnagar, Channapattana etc. In each place, they also owned 15 to 20 autos, totalling 120.

"If we get the chief culprit Dadapir, who is on the run, more details will come to light," Gopal said.

Their associates Anna Imran and Zaffer were caught a month ago and stolen vehicles worth Rs 2 lakh were seized from them. "Their interrogation led us to the chor family," the inspector said.

Hungama in court

Chaos reigned when the accused were brought to the court of the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. The accused alleged that police tortured them and was harassing their family members.
