Gurgaon police update website with records of criminals, cases

The Public Information section of the Gurgaon police website, which till a few days ago was only a blank format, has finally been filled in with data about criminals and records of crimes.

MiD DAY had on February 25, 2009, reported the matter and had informed higher officials about the non-functional website. Thanking MiD DAY, Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon, Manjit Singh Ahlawat had assured that the site would be updated as soon as possible. "I am not aware of this. If the Public Information section is blank, I will instruct our IT department to update the site as soon as possible," Ahlawat had said.

While the site now includes data regarding Haryana's most wanted criminals and lost-and-found vehicles, many other sections are still blank. The sections on missing persons and unclaimed bodies are yet to be updated. "Our IT department is quite efficient. We will post the other records soon," said Ahlawat.
