Any idea what the word 'vagina' is in Hindi? Try 'orgasm'. We are not even too sure what the apt Hindi translation for a 'monologue' is, but witnessing Eve Ensler's legendary play ufffd The Vagina Monologues ufffd take on a desi twist in Poor-Box Productions' Kissa Yoni Ka, will be interesting, to say the least. Put this production in a space that is essentially meant for stand-up comedians and you wouldn't know what to expect.

Either ways, it would be interesting to catch the play that moved thousands of women across the globe and raised millions of dollars, talk of vada pav or Hyderabadi Biryani rather than a hamburger. Meet Indianised characters telling their stories in Hindi: from the Maharashtrian woman who met a man who 'loved to look at her' to a Parsi woman who hasn't 'been down there since 1994'. Watch out for the medley of the big 'O' that was quite a piece de resistance in the famous English version.

Produced and directed by Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal and Kaizaad Kotwal, the play stars Mahabanoo, Sonali Sachdev, Jayati Bhatia, Dolly Thakore and Avantika Akerkar.
