An entrepreneur has launched a portal where people can sign up and avail the services ofu00a0 puncturewalas to mend their flat tyres round the clock

One night, while driving back from work, 26-year old Vishwanath Murthy's car got au00a0 flat tyre. He was stranded there at night without any help.

"It was then that I thought there has to be a way to find a puncturewala even at night.u00a0 I should be able to make just a phone call and a puncturewalau00a0 should be at my service. This is when I thought of the website," Vishwanath told MiD DAY.

He has started puncturewala.com, where people can sign up and avail the services of a puncturewala to mend their flat tyres round the clock. "We have made a network of puncturewalas in various part of the city. In case of a flat tyre, our members will just have to call us. The nearest puncturewala will reach the spot in 20 minutes," he said.

Paid service

To avail the service, people have to buy a one year subscription. "Members will have to pay Rs 99 for two wheelers, and Rs 149 for four wheelers for a year. Whenever they avail the service, they may have to pay Rs 50 for two wheelrs, Rs 75 for four wheelers with tube tyres and Rs 149 for four wheelers with tubeless tyres," he said.

Vishwanath also claims that his service is better than that of the local puncture walas too. "The local mechanics expect you to take your vehicle to their shop, but in our case, our puncturewalas will come to the spot, well equipped," he said.

Vishwanath now plans tou00a0 expand his service to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. "We are in the process of beginning our operations there and are tying up with the local puncturewalas there," he said.
