Like money, age, too, is a false illusion of skill, and this 21-year-old Bangalore-based artist is a testimony to the claim. The young artist uses photography as a tool to create digital prints on archival paper, and produces fine metaphors inspired by varied life situations. As she gears up for her debut solo exhibition Step in Light, we peep into her inner world.u00a0

The entire set of 26 pictures and artworks has been divided into four subsets Time, My Shadow, The Golden Thread and Global Quotation. Time demonstrates the progression and evolution of human beings with the time.

The second series, My Shadow, comprises pictures that give an exciting perspective to mundane objects and activities like bucket, daily survival grind and poetry by TS Eliot.

The third series captures the constant endeavour of people to beat time, shun unfavourable situations, and the inability to identify objects that they're running from.

In the last series, the artist juxtaposes the protagonist with various props that have a constant narrative flowing through them.

Inspiration count

"I have been inspired by various personalities, especially TS Eliot's poem 'The Waste Land' and its significance to the universal idea. The entire series of works is very positive, encapsulating the concept of freedom. As a youngster, I wish to create objects that I believe in," sums up Sohini.
