This gang of robbers beat another mugger to death with cement tiles; the deceased thought they were policemen who were out to arrest him
The city police have arrested a group of robbers for killing Sapad Rama, another robber. The accused, Zameer (19), Raghavendra (24), Irfan (23) and Javed (19), have been sent to the Central Jail.
Of these, Zameer and Javed are have spent four years in judicial custody as juvenile offenders.
Raghavendra and Irfan have more than 25 cases of robberies, murders and half murders throughout the state and Andhra Pradesh. The deceased has many case of robberies and half murders registered against him.

On August 11, the four planned a robbery near Balepete, and were waiting at a deserted place. At 11.30 pm, they saw a man approach them. They stopped him and started to ask questions.

The man was Rama, who, unknown to them, had the same plans to rob people. Thinking he was easy prey, they decided to rob him, but Rama assumed that the four robbers were policemen.

In his panic, he fished out a dagger, and tried to stab Raghavendra, but the other members overpowered him.
This led to a merciless beating using cement tiles, which killed Rama. The gang then took the Rs 500 Rama had on him and escaped.
Lucky break
The Bhadravati and city police were looking for the attackers, and caught them red-handed on September 10, while they were planning another robbery at Gandhinagar.
The gang has been robbing people for the last 10 years, and had come to Bangalore in August. Within 10 days, they had robber three people of Rs 2 lakh.
The police are still looking for any other offences they might have been involved in. Investigation officer R Prakash, Upparpet Limits police station, said, "If we hadn't caught them, they would have wreaked havoc in the city."
