Residents have been given two months to submit the details of their employees, failing which police will be forced to take legal action against them.
In a notice, newly appointed Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate Hridyesh Kumar, has asked all the security agencies and house owners to strictly follow the rules and regulations regarding police verification.
"We have been witnessing this problem very often. In almost 30-40 per cent of cases related to theft and murder by servants, police verification has not been done. Once this process falls in place, it would definitely act as a deterrent for many offenders," he said.
The beginning will be made with the verification of servants and tenants. According to SP (city) Anant Dev, Noida police is following Gurgaon police in making the verification of tenants compulsory. He observed, "In March this year, we also launched a campaign on the same issue.
Now we are forced to act strongly. In case a tenant is not verified, action could be taken against the landlord." He also added, "A report had also been sent to the district magistrate elaborating on the details of all the crime happened in the city in last one year involving security guards and servants."
