If golf fanatic Tarun Hukku has his way, you'll soon be talking golf in Marathi. The golf evangelist, who heads support services at an IT infra management company in Bengaluru, also runs social initiative ChotaGolf (.com), which has translated a Beginner's Guide to Golf, a Glossary of Golf Terms, the Basic Rules of Golf into Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada and Tamil.

"They are available as free downloads for members (membership is free) on www.chotagolf.com. You are free to download, print and share these documents," says the golf evangelist who is sending out print versions to golf clubs for easy sharing. Coming upu00a0-- a Guide for Caddies.
Fresh off a CXO Invitational Tourney in Bengaluru, Hukku is working on an industry-level event but also wants to take the game to schools.
"We are in talks with a sports organisation that holds programmes across 100 schools. They are keen to add golf to their portfolio in conjunction with the expertise ChotaGolf can provide.
Our plan is to enter the school segment in early 2011," says Hukku, who hopes that golf becomes the second most popular game in India by 2020.
He is "in conversation with a leading golf academy" in Mumbai to hold golf clinics in and around the city over the next six months. ChotaGolf was founded last year as a medium to take the game to the grassroots and rid it off its elitist tag. Golf coach Vijay Divecha responds to beginners' queries on the website.
ChotaGolf has also created a video training guide for beginners with the help of Chikka Rangappa, one of the country's prominent amateur golfers. The video guide is available for free download, and members can also download it on their cellphones for live access.
