Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari said the government has no plans to set up a national or universal board instead of the existing boards for Class XII examinations.
Union Minister Kapil Sibal had earlier clarified that the proposal to have one-board-one-exam system was not in the agenda of the ministry as introduction of uniform examination may not be possible due to differences in quality of examination in state boards.
"Unless the quality is improved, the state boards cannot affiliate to a uniform system. I did not say there would be one-board-one-exam system," he had said.
