The amount would be spent to renovate 11 wards of Sassoon hospital and to build trauma care unit in Aundh Chest hospital
During the winter session of the state assembly last month, the state government sanctioned Rs 20 crore to renovate 11 wards in Sassoon general hospital and to construct a trauma care unit in Aundh Chest hospital.

Besides, Rs 37 crore was passed to revamp the Government Polytechnic at Avasari Khurd. The government had also approved funds of Rs 290 crore to construct roads at various places in the district.
Speaking to MiD DAY, Superintendent Engineer of PWD (Pune circle) DG Malekar said the work would begin soon after the department gets the first installment. “The proposal was sent to the government for approval in October last year. We expect that the funds would be released before the end of the financial year,” said Malekar.
Informing about the projects, Malekar said that the 11 wards of Sassoon hospital, including the general wards for men and women, would be given a makeover.
“The old flooring would be replaced, and the washrooms and walls would be repaired. Besides, a storeroom and a doctors’ room would be constructed in all the wards.” u00a0Speaking about the Aundh Chest Hospital, Malekar said that a trauma care unit would be built in Aundh Chest Hospital, along with some renovation work.u00a0
