Death metal concerts are rare in India as the heavily distorted guitars, deep growling vocals and blasting drums don't cater to all the listeners. But Bangalore has always welcomed all genres and this time it is no different.

In Cemetery Gates, around 22 bands from all across the country are coming into town to pay a tribute to the late legendary death metal American vocalist and songwriter Ronnie James Dio.
Demonic Resurrection, a Mumbai based band, which will be headlining the concert promises to give you a morning of heavy-duty music.
Husain Bandukwala, the bassist of Demonic Resurrection agreed that death is not for all ears but, "Our music is symphonic and atmospheric with a touch of progressive. Even if the audience is not being able to digest the sound, it will still love the energy on stage."
Demonic Resurrection will be playing a set or original songs from their recent album The Return to Darkness in an hour-long gig, which will be followed by a 12-hour metal concert.
"The songs are about a warrior who has returned after war only to find destruction and darkness everywhere. They speak of the darkness around and in our souls," Bandukwala says.
The band, which was formed in 2000, by a group of teenage boys with an aim to create global music, has won the Global Metal Award in London in 2010.
At present, the band features Husain Bandukwala on bass, Mephisto on keyboard, Virendra on drums, Sahil and Rego on guitar.
Bandukwala while remembering how the name Demonic Resurrection was coined says, "In that age this sounded like a cool name as if some demons will rise from the underground."
Their music is strong and guttural, yet subtle in its message. It speaks of the shadows of uncertainty and pain that cloud over human emotions and actions.
Through their high-octane sound, the band promises to give us a sound to remember this weekend. So get ready for the mosh pit, we say.
