Harassment from in-laws drives man to end life

Driven by alleged harassment by his in-laws, a 24-year-old man ended his life by leaping before a moving truck on Wakad Road yesterday afternoon.

The Hinjewadi police have booked Hanumant Sahane’s mother-in-law Chandrabhaga and father-in-law Rajabhau Gaikwad for abetment to suicide. The deceased was a resident of Thergaon.u00a0


The Hinjewadi police said that Hanumant had married Dimple, the daughter of the accused six years ago, but the couple used to fight over petty issues. Her parents allegedly threatened to lodge a complaint against the deceased each time there was an issue at home.


Yesterday afternoon, the deceased and his in-laws again had a dispute, after which Hanumant allegedly jumped in front of a moving truck and was run over.


A complaint has been registered against the accused by Kavita Navghane, the sister of the deceased.u00a0
