Some elite commandos, part of the security staff of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, are neck deep in trouble now because they had apparently hit out at the car of an ex-OSD (official on special duty) to a Bhutan official. The Haryana Police has been handed over the matter but is yet to take any action.

The incident happened on September 22, 2010, when the commandos were heading to Safdarjung airport to receive the Haryana CM. They were traveling in a white Endeavor car bearing number plate HR03K2139. While passing through Badarpur area in south Delhi they were stuck in traffic congestion. The complainant Sanjoy Bhattacharya was returning home in Dwarka via the same route.
"There was no VVIP in the car and only the commandos were traveling in it while flashing beacons and blowing sirens. When we were stuck in a traffic jam, they randomly hit out with their sticks to make way. They were using unparliamentary language. They also hit my car and when I asked them why they were misbehaving with the people, they hit my car and went ahead without paying heed. Other cars of the cavalcade followed the Endeavor," said Sanjoy. Shocked at this, Sanjoy made calls to PCR and Central Traffic Control Room to report the incident and asked the police to take action.
The complainant had appealed to the home ministry to take action against the accused. The Delhi Police which was looking into the matter at first was reluctant to take action as it involved the commandos in Haryana CM's security.u00a0 Hence they handed over the matter to Haryana police. MiD DAY contacted Haryana DSP (CID) Rattan Singh who confirmed the incident and said he was not aware if the car belonged to the CM. "I don't know whether the car belongs tou00a0 the CM's convoy. We were handed over the complaint five days ago and are looking into it," said the DSP.
No hope?
Sanjoy said he had thought that no action will be taken as so many months had passed since he had filed the complaint. He said he was surprised when he got a call from the DSP who told him that the Haryana Police is looking into matter now.u00a0"I have been informed that the matter has been handed over to the Haryana police as the car belonged to the Haryana CM's convoy. Now I have approached the Home Ministry in this respect," said Sujoy.u00a0He added, "The Haryana cops have confirmed to me that the car belongs to the chief minister and are pressurising me to take back the complaint."
