A fire brigade officer said that the incident took place around 2.35 pm at house number 113, near Masjid Moth in Hauz Khas area.u00a0 "An apparel factory has been operating inside a four-storey building for sometime now. The boiler, placed on the ground floor suddenly blasted, leaving one dead and two injured. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot but before they arrived, the flame had been doused," said a fire brigade officer.
The officer said that the injured were rushed to AIIMS trauma centre, where Mohammad Alam was declared brought dead, while Pankaj (22) and Azhar (30) are recuperating.
A police officer said that Mohammad Alam's body has been sent to AIIMS mortuary for postmortem. "We have registered a case against the factory owner, Mohin, who has been illegally running the factory. He has been absconding after the incident.
A hunt is on to nab him," said the officer. According to the officer, all victims have been identified as labourers of the factory. "The reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained," the officer added.
