Have mercy, it's recession time

Head to the new addition to the city's fashion station, Illisa, at your own risk. WHAT's ON dropped in and couldn't help but exclaim at the exorbitant prices

The latest addition to Aundh is a garment store which offers something for everyone, right from a new-born baby to a granny. Vying for attention were not just the dresses but also the breathtaking view. Located on the third floor, it offers a bird's eye view of the city. The name Illisa literally means queen of the earth in Sanskrit and they surely aim to make you spend like one, if not dress like one.

Ambience: The store is done up in white and has a neat, elegant look. Each section is segregated so there is no confusion while shopping.

Range: Check out their range of tops, skirts, jeans, tunics, office wear, casuals, salwar kameezes, churidars, dress materials, bags, shoes and night wear. The Indian wear section includes office-wear, casual-wear and party-wear. The dress materials are made from cotton, chiffon, silk and net. The western wear section boasts of casual shirts, tops, tunics, jeans and trousers. The baby section has dresses, cuddles, shoes, soft toys, dolls and beds. In the bag section, there are clutches, wallets and handbags on offer. The Churidar and Salwar Kameezes have zardozi and zari thread work on them. However, priced at Rs 7,000, they are just not worth it.

We liked: The limited edition free-size tunics in satin and net were very classy. The casual tops in bright as well as light colours were also eye-catching. Some of the summer dresses were also interesting. In the kids' section, check out the night-wear for girls, which come in a range of colours like pink, violet, blue and white. Most of the bags also looked trendy, but were again over-priced at Rs 1,000 and above.

At: Plot 1 and 4, Lakshaparva Complex, ITI Road, Parihar Chowk, Aundh.
Call: 25886708.
Open: All days from 11 am to 10 pm
