Brand launches small, multi-utility vehicle

India's largest selling car company Maruti Suzuki's new launch echoed around the 10th Auto Expo on Thursday.

Shutting up detractors, the company showcased Eeco, a low-cost family vehicle, proving Maruti is still unbeatable in the small car segment.
The car, priced at around Rs 2.59 lakh, is targeted at the lower middle income group.
"Eeco is a multi-purpose family car specifically designed for India by our engineers and it has been priced very competitively," said Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi.
A common fit
The Eeco -- fitted with a 1,200-cc engine -- is a five-door, C-segment car. "Maruti Suzuki engineers have specially developed the Eeco to meet diverse consumer aspirations that look for a vehicle that fits a large family and at the same time provides flexibility for dual use," said Nakanishi.
