Indore: Heavy rains have disrupted normal life in Tamil Nadu. The State government asked to shut down the educational institutes. Vellore Institute of Technology remained closed after government announcement. Annamalai University also declared holidays till November 18 and the examinations of this institute have been cancelled till November 23. Closure of the educational institutes due to heavy rains in Tamil Nadu has affected outstation students in Vellore area.

Students belonging states like Madhya Pradesh are bound to reschedule their vacation plans after their term examinations. Students from Indore told over phone that they are safe in the region and there are no casualties but due to heavy rains, they could not go to college after Diwali holidays. The educational had scheduled term examinations after Diwali vacations. At least two papers of the semester exams could not be conducted because of heavy rains.

According to the students, they need to reserve train tickets well in advance for the vacations. Just after declaration of time table, many students booked their rail and air tickets to go home for holidays. Now semester exams for one or two papers will be extended so they need to cancel their reserved tickets. Students, who have booked railways tickets, will get some refund but in case of air tickets, they will suffer lose. Due to semester exam, many students could not manage to go home during Diwali vacations.
