The deadline for filling up of potholes in the city has been extended until this month end by BBMP Commissioner
H Siddaiah. BBMP officials said that there are about 15,000 plus potholes that have to be filled in less than a week's time. It remains to be seen whether they make it.

Officials also blame the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) for not filling up patchs after road cutting. The BBMP has clearly told BWSSB and BESCOM to complete the patchwork immediately once they have completed their work.
Gopalaswamy said, "There has been a pipe leakage opposite National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) since the past few days, but the BWSSB has not attended to it in spite of many reminders. We can't take up the job there unless the leakage is stopped."
The BBMP had released Rs 1 lakh to each of the city's 198 wards for filling up the potholes. Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Security) Praveen Sood said, "Earlier when the Land Army had taken up the job, we used to help them identify potholes. But now it has been discontinued and we are no more related."
