The house hunt...
Was not an easy job. I checked out a couple of flats but didn't like any. My cousin then told me about this resale flat in Amboli and that's when I decided to check it out. I liked the flat the moment I saw it. I purchased the flat sometime back. But I moved here only after getting married.
Arranging the finance...
Was a little difficult. Buying a flat in Mumbai is definitely not easy. And budget was my major concern. So, I took a home loan from ICICI Bank. They were pretty co-operative and gave me a loan and that was of great help in buying a new home
The location...
Is amazing. Andheri (W) was high on my priority list because it's well connected to various suburbs. Also, the station is close to where we stay. There are several malls like the Citi Mall, The Star Mall and other hangouts that are just 15 minutes away from our home. One good thing is that it's very peaceful. But the roads areu00a0 bad. Something should be done to improve the quality of roads
The flatu2026
Is amazing. It's a 1BHK but very spacious. I wanted a place that was well connected to other suburbs. It's an old structure and so the rooms are spacious with an attached balcony and high ceiling. Also since our flat is on the 4th floor, it's very airy
Lessons learnt...
In case of a resale flat one should make sure the title is clear. Ask for a copy of all the documents at the start and verify them before booking. Check the neighbour's flat as well for cracks, leakage and construction quality. Find out what the paperwork and formalities are for this kind of transaction before you book. Also find out the amount you need to shell out for stamp duty and transfer fee
