The Banaswadi police have busted a gang that supplied milk during the day and robbed passersby as night descended on the isolated streets of different localities in the city.
All five members of the gang were arrested on Friday night when the criminals, armed and waiting for the prey,
were loitering suspiciously in an isolated place in HRBR layout.

During interrogation Prakash (30), one of the accused, also confessed that he had killed his own wife by
pushing her into a reservoir in 2006, as she could not fetch him dowry.
Lured into trap
According to the police, Prakash's confession helped solve a murder case that was reported as an unnatural case in Bhadravathi rural police station five years ago.
Banaswadi Police Inspector T Rangappa said that Prakash was a milk vendor in Sunkadakatta. He lured his neighbour, Roopa, and eventually married her, thinking that she would fetch him a hefty dowry.
But when Roopa's parents disowned her for marrying Prakash against their wishes, the milk vendor's plan to become rich overnight boomeranged.
Frustrated, Prakash then decided to get rid of Roopa. A few months later, he moved to Andhra Halli and hatched a plan with his friends to eliminate Roopa so that he could marry again and get a huge dowry.
As per the plan, he went on a picnic with friends at Lakkavalli dam (near Tarikere town) at Bhadravathi and tagged Roopa along. The gang then pushed her into the dam.
Prakash returned home and joined his friends in other criminal activities, while his parents, who were unaware of their son's first marriage, started the hunt for a prospective bride for him.
"Prakash did not inform his parents about his previous marriage and kept Roopa in a separate house. He used
to supply milk in the daytime and rob people at night with his aides," said Rangappa.
His other associates are notorious thieves involved in several robberies in KS Layout, Subramanyapura, Cubbon Park and Hebbal, added Rangappa.
Justice to the victim
"With his arrest, we managed to get justice to Roopa who lost her life for not obliging to her husbands dowry demands and also saved the life of girls who could have fallen prey to Prakash," said Rangappa.
