The accused have been identified as Jitendrasingh alias Jitu Vanesighanji Devda (25) and Padamsingh Gangasingh Kunpawat (39), both are residents of Rajasthan, The suspects broke into the shop in the dead of night of May 1, 2010 and decamped with the booty worth Rs 1 crore.u00a0
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Rajesh Bansode, the case was solved after senior police inspector Sunil Pawar of SIT had arrested some accused for looting a Mumbai-based jeweller Bharat Jain's gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 68 lakh in Chinchwad.u00a0
During interrogation, these accused spilled the beans about the 2010 burglary.u00a0According to the police, Devda used to work in Vishal Jewellers but due to some unknown reasons he quit the job only to hatch au00a0conspiracy to rob the shop later.u00a0
"Devda kept removing bricks of the shop from the rear side for a few days and then finally broke open the wooden shield to enter the shop", added Bansode.
