"This is so frustrating and unfortunate. A son of India scarifies his life and the cunning politicians can't even hang Kasab," wrote 55-year-old K. Mohanan in his suicide note.

Mohanan, who is uncle of late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the NSG commando who was killed during 26/11 attack in Mumbai, set himself ablaze in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan's gate number 4 on Thursday evening.

The 14 page-suicide note, whose contents MiD DAY managed to access, (some of the pages are written in Malayalam) tell a tale of a senior citizen who is demoralised and dejected by the inefficiency plaguing the current political system.
They are just gobbling up the hard earned money of the citizens of India. All of them are the same. I hope someday sons of these politicians too become martyrs, because only then they will realise what pain I am suffering. The administrators and representatives of the political parties couldn't do anything for the victims of 26/11 terror attack. Was it actually a war between two nations?

Why is the government delaying the introduction of a bill in Parliament against terrorism? Democracy should be for the well being of the nation, and it should not make way for terrorism. Sandu mon,(Sandeep Unnikrishnan) you are beingu00a0 forgotten with each passing day. But I can't. My son's last lines were "Do not come up, I will handle them". But no one is going to handle this situation."
Till the last reports came in, Mohanan was on ventilator in the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. "He has suffered more than 90 percent burns and most of his vital organs are burnt. We are trying our best but his condition is serious," said a doctor at the hospital.
Mohanan, a resident of Calicut in Kerala had left his home telling his family members (he has wife and two children) that he was going to Ernakulam. But he arrived in Delhi on January 30.
In his suicide note, Mohanan has given his address asu00a0 KannameaghHouse, Madura Bazar, Cheru Vannur, Kerala 67363 and phone number (09995836216) in the suicide note. Meanwhile, police has registered an FIR against Mohanan for attempt to suicide.

Sandeep Unnikrishnan was a Major in the Indian Army serving in the Special Action Group of the National Security Guards (NSG). Major Unnikrishnan was the team commander of 51 SAG deployed in the operation at the Taj Mahal Hotel to rid the building of terrorists and rescue the hostages.
