If FrootCafe, Borivali's latest mini cafe is trying to attract the attention of the coffee-guzzling generation, it needs a serious revamp. It has been four months since this cafe opened its doors to fruit lovers but even on Sunday evenings, you will find their uniformed staff strolling around, waiting for a customer to hop in.

Ambience: The seating comprises a few comfortable chairs and mini sofas. But, for a group of 6 to 8 people, it can get get a little cramped.

The Menu: You aren't spoilt for choice at this one. Besides your run-of-the-mill juices and Iced Teas, you get to pick from a list of Froothies (Rs 40 for medium and Rs 45 for large) like Mangoberry; concoctions like Have A Date (a mixture of dates, banana, milk and honey); soda-based drinks called Frootz (Rs 40) like Citrus Twister and Grapezz; and FrootShakes (Rs 35 for medium and Rs 40 for large) available in flavours like strawberry, choco, mango and melon. The health-conscious lot can opt for Enerjuices (Rs 40 for medium and Rs 45 for large) like Insta Boost, a healthy mix of vegetables like carrot, beetroot, awla along with mint leaves and honey.

Tea and coffee lovers won't find much in here, besides the apparent options Green Tea, Lemon Tea, Moccacino, Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate, all ranging between Rs 20 and Rs 25. Surprisingly, Veg Bars (Rs 25 for medium and Rs 45 for large) and Frankies ( Rs 25-30) are the only available snack options here.u00a0

We tried: Mangoberry (Rs 40), a thick blend of mango, strawberries, banana, yoghurt and milk was satiating.

But our high expectations plummeted to the ground when the Choco Shake (Rs 35) arrived it tasted like a bland version of our old school drinking chocolate. The Grappel (Rs 35), a tangy grape drink helped us recuperate from this chocolate blunder. The Chilly Paneer Frankie (Rs 30) was stuffed with chilled paneer, onions and potato stuffing and wasn't worth the 20-minute wait. The Veg Bar (bread slices filled with cabbage, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, onion and sauces) was prepared in soft bread that melted in our mouth but the mayonnaise was a little watery and dripped with every bite, making it difficult for us to finish the sandwich.

We suggest: The staff needs to be more attentive to guests the drinks were served without ice, and the food was cold when it reached our table.
