Beat the stress with these killer treatments aimed at bettering your body with natural herbal treatments

A light hint of eucalyptus will hit you right in the face as you enter Magix, a unisex spa and salon. The warm, woody smell hits your nostrils and helps you switch to a calm mode once you enter this salon and spa.

Before we began, the masseur asked me whether I suffered from any body aches and joint pains. I informed her about my nagging back ache and asked for a treatment that would help relax this part of my body.

Of the 63 odd treatments available at the spa such as herbal treatments for treating uneven skin tones, tans and a tricology (a herbal cure for the scalp) treatment, we finally settled for a full body massage for my sore back, thanks to sitting in front of the computer all day at work.

I stepped into the scented candle lit room that was smelling of heavenly vanilla and pulled on my bathrobe and waited to be pampered.

While my masseur set up the room, I rested on the comfortable massage bed and looked around the room that was subtly decorated with candles and ornaments that depicted resting bodies and a tall old fashioned mirror that stood on the wall, the room's charming atmosphere easily put me at ease.

Before we started, my masseur explained to me that the treatment I'd chosen was a Swedish body massage (Rs 1,800) which would help relax my muscles. With the light dimmed even lower, the masseur began to work her magic on my body.

Every tense and cramped muscle, every over worked joint was in for a treat as the masseur's fingers combined with the olive oil worked their way across my sore body.

For a klutz like me, who is constantly falling over objects and bumping into things, the pain I had been experiencing in so many parts of my body had magically disappeared.

Within minutes, a sense of relief flooded through my body. A dim realization hit me during the process; Magixspa was called magix for a reason. My favourite part of the treatment was the head and the neck massage.

The masseur ran her fingers through my hair and gave me a smooth oil massage that was to die for. The olive oil seeped through my hair and onto my scalp both of which were left wanting for more.

The only thing lacking was some soothing music throughout the session which would have made the treatment all the more enjoyable.

The hour long session concluded with a shower that consisted of a thick stream of steam and boiling hot water.

This body massage was what I needed badly, especially after a long and bumpy ride to Magix which is located in the very confusing Jayanagar.
